What are the 10 most memorable music performances you've seen? (Remember, "memorable" may not be good.)
Submitted by Bill.
1 & 2 - Duran Duran in 1984 (Atlanta) and in 2004 (Houston). Amazing and wonderful!
3-7 - A variety of Motley Crue shows (back in the olden days - the new ones wouldn't be so great methinks)
8. Judas Priest at Starwood (*mourns for starwood*)
9. b52's at the UT Alumni Gym - Big ol party!
10. I can't remember the 10th, but I bet it was fun. ;)
When is the last time you stayed up all night?
I can't remember exactly, both because it was quite a long time ago, and because I am pretty sure there were substances involved. I am way too old to stay up all night anymore, but on rare occasion I almost do it just because of my love for tinkering around with the web. :)
What is your favorite greasy spoon?
Submitted by S@ngarang.
We have the greasiest of greasy spoons here in College Station - Chicken Oil. Do you eat chicken there? Never. You eat hamburgers. Yummy, greasy ones. And drink beer. All in the company of a billion license plates and an amazing amount of taxidermy with an inch of dust on it. You ever seen a buffalo with an inch of dust on it? It's a sight to behold. Come to Chicken Oil. :)
What did you dream about last night?
Last night was the first night in a long time I didn't sleep with a nicotine patch on (nicotine patch=vivid dreams), so I slept like a baby, and don't remember a dang thing. The night before last I woke up madder then hell at my husband, but I can't now remember why. I do remember my "first love" being in the dream too though. Weirdness. I hope I get over this smoking thing very soon.
What are your superstitions?
Submitted by lazywong.
Well, I don't really HAVE any superstitions, but if I can avoid it I don't walk under ladders (thats just stupid) or open umbrellas in the house (thats just rude).
The guys of Duran Duran circa 1985 were the most famous people I have ever met. The experience was truly too unbelievable to even remember straight. I keep saying I am going to scan those pictures, I need to do that.
I met Jon BonJovi once, and was so amazed at how very tiny he was. I towered over him.
The ones we had growing up. Our neighbors were quite wealthy and they would just buy an unreal amount of fireworks every year. Fabu.
I loved SuperBreakout when I was a kid - I know, simple stuff. My favorites are still the good ol retro Atari games, I have never really gotten into the new style at all. Give me some Galaga any day.
A book? Changed my life... It might be the one that harbored my fabulous Lemon Meringue Pie recipe, or it might be Jaws that started my dear love of sharks when I was a mere yut, or it might ba another book that I am not going to spill my guts about. ;)
